Matt Smith

Owner & Head Trainer

Matt proudly owns this Sit Means Sit franchise, established in 2011. He shares his life with four loyal companions—two Malinois (Kilo & Kage) and two Rottweilers (Diesel & Titus).

His journey in canine training began in 2009 alongside his mother-in-law, Jori Pollard, a Sit Means Sit franchise owner in Colorado.

When asked how he got into dog training, Matt jokes, “I couldn’t pass a math class in college.” But his real passion lies in helping people do more with their pets by creating a welcoming, educational environment.

One of his favorite quotes: “Time is the most precious commodity. It’s the one thing you can’t buy—or ever buy back.”

Jamie Smith

Owner

Jamie is the Owner and COO of the franchise, working alongside her husband, Matt, since 2011. Together, they share their four beloved dogs and are proud parents to three boys—Jaxson, Cole, and Levi.

Jamie loves watching the team grow and thrive while working toward the mission of helping people have fun with their pets.

In addition to her role here, Jamie is also a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. She feels fortunate to live the best of both worlds—making a difference in the lives of both people and pets.

Emma Maxwell

Head Trainer

Emma became part of the Sit Means Sit family in 2018 and has been sharing her love for dogs ever since. She’s the proud dog mom of Charlie, a retired demo German Shepherd who now enjoys the good life at home, and Jinx, a high-energy Belgian Malinois who loves to show off her tricks.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys competing in various canine sports with Jinx, her constant companion and teammate.
